Calmer Secure is not an earplug and does not block sound, it is designed to reduce noise – not volume. It does this by reducing distortion within the ear rather than simply reducing volume, this means the sound you hear is smoother with stressful frequencies reduced. Making you feel calmer. It means you can continue to hear the important sounds around you, but in a way that is less harsh on your ears.

Which size do I need?

90% of users fit standard size Calmer Secure. If you are unsure of what size you need, we recommend trying the standard size first. Calmer Secure Mini is available for anyone with much smaller ear canals.

DAY 1: HOW DOES IT FEEL?

Calmer Secure works best when it fits you well. Before using Calmer for the first time, make sure you’ve read and understood the fitting instructions to achieve the best fit. Take some time. If Calmer Secure isn’t fitted correctly, you may find that it doesn’t perform at its full potential. The lanyard can be worn over or behind the head.

DAY 2: GOOD THINGS CAN TAKE TIME

Don’t worry if you try Calmer for a few minutes and don’t experience a significant change. The benefits from Calmer can be subtle ones that build over time. We recommend using Calmer for as long as possible within the first 24 hours to give you time to adjust to this new way of hearing.

DAY 3: CALM YOUR AUDIO WORLD

The full effects of Calmer are harder to notice in quiet calm places – Calmer works best when worn in places where the noise would normally bother or irritate you. Calmer takes the edge off of noises that normally make us feel tense or stressed.

DAY 4: ZOOM SMOOTHER

Zoom calls are a great way to test Calmer. You should find that video calls are a lot more pleasant on your ears. Distortions in the sound are a lot more manageable, smoother and less sharp.

DAY 5: UPGRADE YOUR KIT

Wear Calmer under your headphones and experience increased definition and an upgraded listening experience. Try wearing Calmer in your ears under your headphones and play a track you know really well. Keep the track playing – remove Calmer and put your headphones back on. The difference should be instantly noticeable!

DAY 6: MAKE HOME-WORKING WORK FOR YOU

Calmer helps boost focus & reduces irritating background noises. Working from home often sees us trying to focus in a less than ideal situation.

With Calmer you can still hear every sound, but the unpleasant edge is taken off resulting in a calmer experience.

Calmer Secure is made from a single piece of soft and durable silicone which acts as a safe and secure lanyard that can be worn over or behind the head. Never worry about losing your Calmer again! The soft silicone lanyard joins up the Calmers, holding them in your ear without pulling them out. It’s as light as air so you don’t notice when you’re wearing it but makes using and removing Calmer a breeze. If you drop one, it’s super easy to find on the end of the lanyard. Available in three colours (Purple, Translucent and Black). Its discreet design means you can wear Calmer Secure without feeling self-conscious. Most people won’t even notice you have them in! They can be worn anywhere including at home, in the office, whilst travelling, watching television or on the games console without reducing your awareness of the environment. They improve relaxation, concentration and reduce stress and irritable feelings. Calmer reduces stress by removing distortion that would usually trigger the human ‘fight or flight’ response. While this response was a vital part of our evolution to alert us to the slightest sound or threat, in today’s modern world where we no longer need to be alert to the snap of a twig, this added resonance is loading us with unnecessary stress.
